Route Description
Introduction
Self-drive safari from Johannesburg to northern Kruger National Park (Pafuri Gate). For those without a 4x4 vehicle, the safari lodges will meet you at a convenient point and transfer you to their camp.
When to go
The best time to go to northern Kruger is during the cooler drier winter months from April to September. Summer days can get extremely hot and the region has summer rainfall.
Detailed description
From Johannesburg , take the N1 toll road all the way north. Turn east at the R525 to enter the Kruger National Park through Pafuri Gate.
From the Pafuri Gate, it is about 22kms to the Pafuri Camp.
